Playa Resorts Understand Your Needs for Vacation

I don't know if there is a more enjoyable way to spend the day than in a two story cabana looking out onto gorgeous blue water, with a waiter bringing you drinks and lunch waiting for you in a number of venues.

Playa Resorts has so many options in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. There are family friendly resorts, perfect places to get away with your significant other, amazing spaces for weddings and even a spot or two to hang with your friends and unwind.

I visited a large number of these resorts on a recent trip to the area with several other travel agents. We toured properties and stayed at two of them to get a good feel of what they offer.

Our first stop was at the beautiful Hyatt Zilara. I loved the laid-back adult only property with its large pool, firepit by the beach and delicious coffee shop. They even had vegan ice cream, which thrilled my allergic self. The 310 room resort is a lovely backdrop for a trip with your honey or with your friends. Food selection was plentiful and most could be visited without reservations. Their teppenyaki exereince and Chef's Plate require those but with an Asain fusion restuarant, 2 Mexican style restaurants, a Caribbean fusion dining spot by the beach and a buffet that was really good, you shouldn't go hungry. They easily modified foods for allergies and were thorough to make sure I was taken care of in regards to allergies.

The pool had a personality all its own. At some times during the day it was a peaceful place to relax. It then morphed into a happening dance party at one end for those who want that. Cabanas were plentiful. Some are reserved for suite guest but there are still plenty available on a first come, first serve basis. The beach was equally enjoyable with minimal seaweed when we were there.

I really like the lobby/entertainment space. There was plenty of seating to chill or watch the daily entertainment in the evening. We were able to see a break dancing type demonstration in the space. The entertainment staff did a great job utilizing the space.

For those of you curious, drink were also good at Hyatt Zilara. The bartender and wait staff were able to make recommendations and introduced me to a new drink called a paloma.
